Broaddus Hospital in Philippi is now providing teletherapy services for seniors. The hospital’s Senior Life Services program transitioned to the remote program after COVID-19 restrictions made its tradition group meetings impossible
“Our new teletherapy services allow our patients to continue to reap the benefits of group and individual therapy but from the safety of their homes,” said Jandi Wells, LPN, program director of Senior Life Solutions.
Teletherapy services are provided via telephone or computer by a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker. After an initial assessment, Senior Life Solutions individualizes a care plan for each patient where they meet up to three times per week in an encouraging, supportive setting. All Senior Life Solutions services are confidential and HIPAA compliant.

The outpatient group therapy program for seniors began offering teletherapy to its patients last month. Teletherapy allows them to receive care while remaining at home. The services are provided via telephone or computer by a licensed clinical social worker.
During Mental Health Month, Gothenburg Health’s Senior Life Solutions Program is exploring topics that can help individuals build their own set of #Tools2Thrive - recognizing and owning one’s feelings; finding the positive after loss; connecting with others; eliminating toxic influences; creating healthy routines; and supporting others - all as ways to boost the mental health and general wellness of individuals and their loved ones.
The group began offering teletherapy to its patients on April 22, 2020 allowing them to receive the care they need while remaining safe and secure at home. Licensed therapists now provide teletherapy services via telephone or computer.
