Choose a Care Setting You Are Passionate About

Crisis Psychiatry (Emergency Departments & Crisis Centers)

  • Provide a minimum of 8 hours of service at least two days a week via telepsychiatry
  • Provide psychiatric assessments and medication consultation to patients in crisis
  • Multiple 4-hour shifts times available 7 days a week
  • A team of round-the-clock crisis coordinators will assist in organizing each appointment and providing support
  • Comfortable providing care to patients in a crisis including all ages and diagnosis

Geriatric Intensive Outpatient Psychiatry Program

  • Work with one of our Senior Life Solutions programs across the country
  • Provide the medical directorship and attending psychiatry work for a rural hospital’s geriatric intensive outpatient program
  • One program treats between 3 to 20 patients requiring 1 to 5 hours of telepsychiatry time each week. This time will fluctuate weekly based on the number and medical necessity of the patients in the program.
  • A majority of the patients are suffering from major depression and anxiety. The local team at each program consists of a RN (Program Director), Licensed Therapist, and a LPN (Office and Patient Coordinator). While not required, it is recommended that psychiatrist visit the program once a quarter to build a rapport with the local clinical team and see patients that are continuing in the program

Inpatient Psychiatry Program

  • Full-time and part-time medical directorship, on-site, and telepsychiatry options available
  • Provide the medical directorship for geriatric and/or adult units and assist with the attending psychiatry work for units ranging from 10 to 100 psychiatry beds
  • A large majority of the work is for licensed psychiatry beds within an acute care hospital and free standing psychiatric hospitals
  • The weekly time that is required may fluctuate based on the number beds and number of providers supporting the unit
  • Allocated time can range from 12 to 40 hours per week

Psychiatric Outpatient Care

  • Opportunities in a number of different settings (CMHCs, FQHCs, PCP Offices, Residential, ACT Teams, Substance Use, Jails)
  • Responsible for assessing and managing patients in an outpatient setting
  • Multiple 4-hour shifts times available; on-site and telepsychiatry opportunities based on your preference and the clinic’s needs and location, minimum commitment of 16 hours a week
  • Clear and reasonable expectations with mutual accountability of the clinic
  • Have the support of the clinic staff who manage patient scheduling, prepares the patient to be seen, and provides the medical record prior to the visit
  • Opportunity to work with one or more clinics based on the time needed by location
  • Telepsychiatry/in-person psychiatry sessions take place during clinic hours: Typically, 8am–6pm; Monday–Friday
