Job Purpose

This position is responsible for the planning and implementation of a comprehensive community outreach program. This position is responsible for assisting the Program Director with management of nursing staff. This position is responsible for overseeing the insurance certification process and recertification process.

Responsibilities
  • Assists with scheduling of nursing staff.
  • Assists with payroll completion for all staff.
  • Rotates call with the Program Director when needed.
  • Provides leadership to other staff. Assists with interviews of nursing staff.
  • Performs tasks as assigned by the Program Director.
  • Ensures that all insurance pre-certifications and continued certifications for all patients are completed.
  • Coordinates the referral development process.
  • Develops and maintains relationship with referral sources by making consistent and regular contact.
  • Maintains current and accurate referral information and competitor information.
  • Maintains an effective account management system.
  • Regularly review referral trends and other relevant date.
  • Assists Program Director with development of annual and quarterly business plans.
  • Makes presentations in the community supporting the program.
  • Fill in for program staff as needed.
  • Plan a weekly/monthly schedule for community outreach.


  • Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse required. BSN preferred.
  • One-year experience in mental health setting or setting for the care of the disabled preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Business development/sales/marketing experience desired.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with little supervision.

  • Working Conditions
    Employee may work occasionally in high stress direct patient care areas. Stress levels may be high due to frequent dealings with life and death situations, physicians, families and other healthcare providers. Employee will be out in the community and working around referral sources.

    Physical Requirements
    Ability to handle light to moderate materials. Physical demands greater than moderate may require knowledge of use of appropriate equipment. Frequent bending, lifting and pulling require proper use of good body mechanics. This job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Also, the ability to communicate by phone is important.
