Crisis Services Manager

Teri joined Integrated Telehealth Partners (ITP) in the fall of 2017. Teri and her team of Crisis Coordinators have seen their numbers tremendously grow, involvement with patient care and case management significantly increase, and have successfully formed strong relationships with their source and referral hospitals, which ultimately helps find patients in need find placement quicker. 

Prior to joining ITP, Teri began her journey working as a psychiatric floor nurse at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Teri then moved into nursing management, working as an Assistant Nurse Manager at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, a Nurse Manager at Charter Community Hospital in Des Moines, and then as the Director of Behavioral Health Services at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines where she served for 28 years. Teri has developed and managed mental health partial hospitalization programs, inpatient psychiatric hospital units, a psychiatric emergency department, a BERT (Behavioral Emergency Response Team) team, and intensive outpatient program substance use programs. These roles provided her with experience in policy and procedure development, staffing, program development, representing the psychiatric program throughout the medical center, and leading the departments to numerous successful Joint Commission surveys. Psychiatric nursing has been Teri’s passion since graduating from college, and she enjoys sharing her 39 years of psychiatric nursing experience with others.   

Teri graduated from the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, and then went on to further her education at Our Lady of the Lake College, BSN completion program.  She has ANCC certification in mental health and psychiatric nursing, as well as a certification in addictions nursing.  She is a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association.
